fantasy creatures

Over 2020 I created a series of vibrant fantasy creatures. I had such a wonderful time making these. I wanted each pose to be dynamic, dramatic and dazzeling. Each picture has an entry as if part of a beastiary. I love drawing mythological creatures and adding my own spin on their lore. All of these were made on procreate.

A Cloud Ribbon Dragon. Spends most of its time looking for the fluffiest clouds to nest in. At dusk they descend to prey on large birds in mid flight.

The Cerulean Harpy. A predator of thick forest canopies. Their shrill, high pitched screeches are enough to stun unsuspecting prey.

A rare sighting of the bioluminescent grinning fish. It’s glowing underbelly attracts all those who lay eyes on it. Coastal villagers have been reported to ‘drop willingly’ from cliffs straight into the creature’s mouth.

Nothing has yet proven to calm a Kirin’s rage. This beast tramples through the skies creating powerful static with its cloven hoofs. The energy forms into devastating lightning storms that terrorise anything and everything below.

The Golden-Bellied Devil Drake can usually be found near lava pools and active volcanoes. It loves tormenting any creatures unlucky enough to cross its path with poisonous gasses and tar-like globules.

Movement causes this webbing to brighten and change colours in a hypnotic, rhythmic pattern. Under the influence of the pulsating colours, creatures usually find themselves slipping deeper into this arachnid’s feeding chamber.

Grockel - A type of golem made partly of a mineral that can cause explosions. The smallest movements of its limbs can cause huge damage to the surrounding area.

Deep sea creeper - A water-breathing centipede known to snap off the fins or legs of its victim's with its jagged mandibles.
